♥ Wine and dine @Roberto`s|Posh Friday ♥
EN: I decided to write about “How to spend the perfect weekend?”after our last nigh out that can be described exactly like this: perfect. If you want to do something different from hanging out with the girls, going to the movie, just take your boyfriend and go for a romantic dinner. Just the two of you, great food and an old wine. White. Semi-dry. I just love the white wine.
This is how things happened in our case.
Friday. A special day for us, because we like to do anything else than just stay home. I love to go out and my husband knows it. When he arrived home, he told me to get dressed and let me know he made a reservation at a great restaurant from the city center. Roberto`s. Italian. A very nice surprise.
Once we got there, we were welcomed by the polite waiter, who has asked us if we would like him to take our clothes. It`s so fancy here. Posh. We love it.
We sit down the table and have a quick look through the menu. He chooses the wine because he knows all about wines. I sometimes ask myself : Is there something he isn`t good at? I ask him to choose the main course for me, he has such good tastes. This time didn`t make an exception.
He took Agnello al Rosmarino for him (Rack of lamb roasted with garlic served with a rosemary & balsamic vinegar sauce and mash potatoes. Roberto`s signature dish.) and some Spigola allo Zafferano for me (Fresh fillet of sea bass served with saffron sauce, asparagus and steamed potatoes).
We enjoyed a bottle of wine and listened to some good music. Jazz rhythms. SO classy.
He calls the waiter and asks him if someone here speaks Italian. The answer is quick and full of enchantment: “YES, of course. And everything happening within this restaurant is Italian. The kitchen. Chefs. The design.” Afterwards they have a conversation in Italian, from which I can barely understand a few words. I love how Italian sounds on his lips. And British english with the accent. That accent. Perfect.
I want to be clear. I`ve eaten the tastiest caramelised fish ever, the wine was so delicious, and for dessert I had some Almond panna cotta with a delicious mango sorbet ice cream and Raspberry crème brûlée. The music was mesmerizing and matched so perfect within this scenario along with the fireplace that was the cold enemy. Absolutely delicious…
RO: Am decis sa scriu despre “Cum sa iti petreci weekendul perfect?” in urma ultimei noaste iesiri, care a fost exact asa: perfecta. Daca te-ai saturat sa iesi cu fetele, sa mergi la film si vrei sa faci ceva special, ia-ti iubitul si iesiti la o cina romantica. Doar voi doi, o mancare buna si un vin vechi. Alb. Demisec. Imi place vinul alb.
Cam asa s-au intamplat lucrurile in cazul nostru.
Vineri. Ziua in care obisnuim sa facem altceva decat sa stam in casa. Imi place sa ies si sotul meu stie asta asa. Odata ajuns acasa, imi spune sa ma pregatesc si ma anunta ca a facut rezervare la un restaurant din centru. Roberto’s. Italian. O surpriza frumoasa.
Odata ajunsi, suntem intampinati de ospatar, care ne intreaba daca dorim sa ne ia hainele. Este extrem de elegant aici. Posh. Ne place. Ne asezam la masa si ne uitam repede peste meniu. El alege vinul. Se pricepe la asta.
Ma intreb cateodata la ce nu se pricepe el?
Il rog sa imi aleaga un main course. Imi place sa ma las pe mana lui. Stie mereu ce e mai bine/bun. De data asta, a fost la fel.

Am savurat un pahar de vin si ne-am bucurat pe ritmuri de jazz. Clasic.
Il cheama apoi pe chelner si il intreaba daca vorbeste cineva italiana. Acesta raspunde incantat: “Da. Si tot ce se intampla in restaurantul asta e italian. Bucataria. Chefs. The design.” Apoi poarta o conversatie in italiana din care reusesc sa inteleg si eu cateva cuvinte. Imi place cum suna italiana de pe buzele lui. Si british english with the accent. That accent. Perfect!
Vreau sa specific ca am mancat cel mai bun peste caramelizat, vinul a fost delicios, iar la desert am ales Almond panna cotta with a delicious mango sorbet ice cream si Raspberry crème brûlée. Muzica era hipnotizanta, se impletea perfect cu atmosfera iar semineul contrasta cu frigul de afara. Delicious…
