EN: Santorini is the island that conquers our imagination and dreams, long before it captures our gaze.
Its imposing natural beauty and its unreal architecture, its renewed sunset but equally impressive sunrise are breathtaking as soon as the traveler sets foot at Thera. And once he gets to know her a little better, the island will steal his heart away.
We stayed in the most beautiful city and hotel of the island (and trust me, I’ve seen them all!) called Regina Mare in Imerovigli. The name Imerovigli reveals that it was a daytime watch post during the pirate raids, which is logical, given that it is placed at the highest point of the caldera.
The landscape’s wild beauty, in complete unison to the local architecture, as well as the enchanting view towards the volcano are literally breathtaking.
We really loved the sunset from here, from Imerovigli. Actually it was our favourite place, although we also enjoyed the obligatory tourist applauds and crowds gathering at Oia (Oh, the famous sunset from Oia).
Φ It was named Santorini by the Venetians.
Φ Santorini is the only island complex where its settlements are not built at sea level, but on the edge of the inside walls of the caldera.
Φ Absolutely all the commercials with Greece have pictures with The one and only: Santorini, including the ones with the greek yougurt (Oh, yeah!)
Join us in a walk around its picturesque colorful villages, thrugh its history and let’s discover the richness of its soil and people.
Follow us in a journey turning dream into reality…
All the photographs are filter free and proudly taken by me and my husband.
